How to wear the colour of the year
If you haven’t heard, Ultraviolet is 2018’s colour of the year and it’s infiltrating the fashion world. So, in this blog, we’re going to look at how to wear it without looking like a Prince impersonator or Jack Nicholson as the Joker.
Pantone’s Ultraviolet is a very bold and deep purple colour. Pantone themselves say “Complex and contemplative, Ultra Violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos, the intrigue of what lies ahead, and the discoveries beyond where we are now. The vast and limitless night sky is symbolic of what is possible and continues to inspire the desire to pursue a world beyond our own.”
So how do we wear this mysterious colour this spring?
If you want to be really bold you can go for a full-on Ultraviolet hair colour. This really isn’t for the faint-hearted though. Here’s what the colour looks like:
When it comes to clothes though, lighter shades seem to be the way to go. It fits with the pastels trend, so expect to see lavender and lilacs in the shops. These lighter hues go with anything and are complimentary to every skin tone, so regardless of who you are, this will be a great colour.
This lilac toned scarf will be perfect as an accessory to keep you on trend and will go with anything.
Puff sleeved jumper
Knits are in and this lilac jumper is perfect for a cute way of rocking the colour.
High waisted trousers
These high-waisted, wide legged trousers are as summery as they come and are bang on trend with a light shade of purple.
If you fancy wearing more bold statement piece these boots are a perfect way to inject some purple into your wardrobe.
Amethyst is, according to spiritualists, a stone that can enhance psychic powers and improves emotional intelligence, reduces stress, detoxifies the body and are known for their rulership of the crown chakra. If you don’t believe in any of that then they are a nice colourful stone and make great on trend jewellery for this season.
